Raymond Murray is an Executive Vice President and oversees Hanscomb’s Halifax office and operations throughout Atlantic Canada.

With an extensive portfolio Construction Loan Monitoring and Cost Planning and Control services, he is one of the most respected Cost Consultants in Atlantic Canada.

Raymond’s work experience includes a diverse range of projects in Canada and the United States ranging from small renovations to educational facilities and the expansion of the municipal buildings and places of interest, to new, large, multifaceted hospital and casino developments.

With 23 years of industry expertise, Erin Brownlow is a Director and manager of Hanscomb’s Halifax office. She is highly regarded by clients and colleagues alike for her knowledge and hands-on involvement in projects, and her skills in managing multiple projects and deliverables in the areas of commercial, industrial, institutional, government, residential, hospitality and healthcare, coupled with her commitment to client satisfaction, sets her apart. Erin strongly advocates for the advancement of Quantity Surveying in Canada, earning widespread recognition for her contributions. Previously, she excelled as a Senior Cost Planner, Monitor, and Estimator with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), wherein she received the 2022 Atlantic PSPC Client Service Award.

Michelle (Delaney) Ernst serve as the Business Manager for Hanscomb’s Halifax operations. In this role, she oversees the company's Atlantic administrative functions, including many critical areas such as revenue management, invoicing, and collections. Additionally, Michelle plays a vital role in supporting production activities by handling report assembly, coordination, and review. Her role often positions her as the primary point of contact for clients, instilling confidence that their project needs are expertly addressed.

Art Maw is Hanscomb’s Chief Executive Officer, with his primary office in Ottawa. His extensive career encompasses various projects and services across different offices and locations in Canada and internationally. Over the years, Art has acquired profound technical knowledge of the Canadian construction industry, covering various construction materials, techniques, service delivery, procurement models, and construction economics.

In addition to his Canadian expertise, Art took charge of Hanscomb's four Middle East offices for nearly a decade, starting in 2000. This international role allowed him to gain firsthand insights into global industry trends.

Beyond his technical contributions, Art is a seasoned public speaker. He has delivered numerous presentations to senior boards in both the public and private sectors. His expertise includes risk management, contingency planning, construction escalation, and project delivery.

With 22 years at Hanscomb, Tracy Slattery manages our Ottawa office's business operations. She is also responsible for supporting the company's national administrative functions, encompassing crucial areas such as revenue management, invoicing, and collections. Tracy's extensive tenure underscores her deep understanding of our organization's intricacies, enabling her to navigate complex business landscapes with finesse. Her diligent oversight ensures efficiency and coherence across our administrative processes, contributing significantly to the smooth functioning of our operations on both local and national scales.

Nicolas Serge, the Manager of Hanscomb's Ottawa office, holds a wealth of industry knowledge with eight years of experience and a degree in Mechanical Engineering Design from Toronto Metropolitan University. His primary focus has been as a Quantity Surveyor and Cost Consultant, specializing in the Mechanical and Electrical divisions.

Beyond his core expertise, Nicolas possesses a comprehensive skill set that encompasses project management, engineering design, and the interpretation of drawings, documents, and 3D models. He also keenly understands current market dynamics and industry trends, which significantly impact new and ongoing construction projects.

Dale Stratton, a dedicated member of the Hanscomb team for over two decades, has played a pivotal role in enhancing our company's standing in the Arctic and Northern Canada. His invaluable contributions have earned Hanscomb the respect of owners, government authorities, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders. In addition, Dale holds a wealth of experience from his previous work in both public and private sector projects, providing a unique perspective that spans various project types. At Hanscomb, he has further built upon this foundation, boasting an impressive portfolio of projects in diverse sectors, including corrections, emergency services and defence, education, and healthcare.

Susan Neil serves as the President of Hanscomb, where she directs and shapes the company's Canadian and global operations.

With a vast and distinguished career, Susan has led numerous projects encompassing traditional design stage cost planning and control services and extensive involvement in preparing, analysing, and certifying costs for public infrastructure and Public Private Partnership (P3) developments.

Regarded as one of Canada's top Cost Consultants, Susan has overseen multibillion-dollar projects in Ontario's public and private sectors. Her expertise in navigating the capital planning requirements of various ministries, Crown Corporations, and agencies and her exceptional presentation skills make her a sought-after advisor for clients.

Susan is actively involved in various initiatives aimed at advancing Quantity Surveying as a profession and a service and was a Part-Time Faculty member at Mohawk College and Ryerson University, now Toronto Metropolitan University, where she taught 'Building Economics, Project Cost Planning, and Control Systems.' Additionally, she has contributed as a guest lecturer at the University of Waterloo's School of Architecture for several years.

Dale Panday is an Executive Vice President and a Senior Cost Consultant. In addition to providing leadership and direction to Hanscomb’s Toronto’s staff, he coordinates cost estimates and studies throughout all levels of the design and construction process for a wide variety of innovative, multi-faceted projects. He has extensive experience in complicated social and civil infrastructure projects that have been delivered under a diverse range of procurement models and is highly respected in the construction industry.

Highly regarded by clients and his peers for his expertise in the areas of transportation, Dale’s work experience spans a wide variety of project types across both public and private sectors. He is an excellent presenter and is often sought to represent Hanscomb and its clients to present project documentation and cost explanations.

Tyler is Hanscomb’s Director of Finance responsible for the organization’s financial and operational stewardship. He comes to Hanscomb from his role as an audit senior manager for a Canadian leading mid market independent audit, tax and consulting firm. His focus was on medium to large-sized private companies, and leading the Private Client Services ("PCS") division with over 20 employees. Tyler is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University and obtained his CPA, CA in 2013.

Sean Davis, situated in our Toronto office, holds the role of Director of Marketing at Hanscomb. He spearheads the firm's marketing endeavours and diligently upholds the company’s respected image and brand. Sean plays a proactive role in assisting all offices by shaping significant proposals and client communications, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, he fosters strong client relationships and enhances brand visibility, driving the firm's growth and success in a competitive market landscape.

Nathan Thinagarippillai is Manager of Hanscomb’s Toronto office and a Senior Cost Consultant. He is responsible for leading projects, providing quality control and coordinating the roles of Hanscomb’s Toronto staff on all of its projects.

With a long career of working on complicated projects, small and large, Nathan is capable of bringing a vast amount of knowledge on the potential cost impacts associated with constructability issues and phasing and staging requirements. This insight is invaluable for any size project and has been critical for some of Hanscomb’s more recent major civil and social infrastructure and municipal related projects.

Murugan Thambiayah is responsible for managing the quality and production of the Toronto Mechanical and Electrical Estimating Department that provides cost consulting services to Hanscomb projects across the country. Highly regarded in the construction industry for his knowledge of both mechanical and electrical services, Murugan and his team also provide estimating support to some of the country’s most prominent mechanical and electrical firms.

Prior to relocating to Hanscomb’s Toronto office in 1999, Murugan began his career working in the firm’s office in Dubai as a Mechanical Estimator. Over his career, he has been responsible for the preparation of bills of quantities, feasibility studies and cost estimates; procurement analysis; value engineering; tender evaluation and recommendation; post contract administration; life cycle costing; and the pricing of complex and specialized mechanical and electrical systems for a variety of sectors including, transportation, education, healthcare, commercial and industrial. In an environment where mechanical and electrical systems play a critical role in energy, sustainability and facility management, Murugan consistently provides clients with expert cost advice to help bring projects on budget while planning for the future.

Craig Bye is an Executive Vice President and ranks among the nation's foremost Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyors and Cost Consultants. With a multifaceted background as a Quantity Surveyor, Trade Estimator, and Licensed Electrician, he is highly regarded for his specialized knowledge in electrical systems, spanning fire alarms, IT, security and Integrated Communications and Technology (ICAT). Beyond Cost Planning and Control, Craig's expertise extends to dispute resolution and change-order negotiation, bringing a valuable dimension to projects and making him an asset to any project team.

In addition to supporting the Hamilton office's activities, Craig provides Master Plans and Functional Program estimates for diverse projects across Ontario and Canada, showcasing his versatile skill set and strategic insight. A Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Craig is also a staunch advocate of the profession and is active in various initiatives targeted at its advancement.

Melissa Trautmann is an Architectural and Structural Cost Consultant and Director of Hanscomb’s Hamilton office. A key part of the Hanscomb Team, her responsibilities have included coordinating quantity take offs, undertaking cost and market research and the preparation of the construction cost estimates throughout all levels of the design process, including Master Plan estimates and Functional Area estimates. She has worked on a diverse range of projects including commercial, healthcare, recreation, educational and institutional type facilities. Melissa is highly proficient with electronic measuring software and brings a high degree of efficiency, accuracy and transparency to estimates.

Bob Picken is a Director and a Senior Cost Consultant with 25+ years of consulting experience. He is responsible for Hanscomb's London office. Bob is highly skilled in capital cost planning, estimating and control for a wide range of projects in a multitude of sectors throughout Ontario and across Canada, particularly in Master Planning and Functional Programming for healthcare facilities and social infrastructure developments. Further, Bob is well versed in the reporting and templating employed by groups like the Ministry of Health, Infrastructure Ontario and other provincial and federal government agencies and crown corporations. Bob’s credits also include a breadth of educational, cultural, municipal, industrial and residential projects.

Isaac Gwendo is an Executive Vice President and Senior Cost Consultant. Since joining the Hanscomb team, Isaac has implemented management strategies that have driven our growth and expanded services in all sectors.

Isaac’s work experience includes an impressive breadth of knowledge of Canada’s Parries with an extensive list projects, both small and large-scale. He is regularly sought for his unparalleled understanding of the region’s construction markets and his costing knowledge and expertise with the broader North American and international markets.

With nearly 15 years of tenure, Irene Malang, a founding member of the Hanscomb Winnipeg team, now leads the office as Manager. Her expertise spans Architectural, Structural, and Civil Quantity Surveying, focusing on diverse social and civil infrastructure projects. With extensive knowledge of Manitoba, North West Ontario, and Saskatchewan construction markets, Irene excels on-site, scrutinizing contractor claims and off-site, guiding estimates for various project types. Her multifaceted skills and leadership embody her proficiency in navigating complex project landscapes, ensuring excellence in every assignment.

Ayo Daniel Abiola recently joined the Hanscomb Team as the Manager of the firm’s ninth Canadian office in Regina, Saskatchewan. Formerly the Principal of Avalanche Nation Services Inc., a reputable firm specializing in Quantity Surveying, and custom Lifecycle Costing and Sustainability Studies for Canadian markets, Ayo brings extensive expertise in the Mechanical and Electrical aspects of buildings and infrastructure development. With his wealth of experience, Ayo is poised to contribute significantly to the growth and success of the Hanscomb team in serving clients across Canada.

Dominic is a Director and manager of Hanscomb’s Edmonton office, where he supervises the firm’s operations in Alberta. Previously, he was the Manager of the firm’s Ottawa office. Capitalizing on his nearly 30 years of experience across the private and public sectors, Dominic is highly skilled in the estimating and analyzing of costs from the early stages of design to the preparation of final accounts and is well practiced leveraging Value Engineering and Lifecycle Costing to ensure projects achieve value for money.

In his previous position as Director of Cost Management Services at Alberta Infrastructure, Dominic spearheaded cost management for vertical infrastructure projects across the Government of Alberta.

Indu is the Manager of Hanscomb’s Vancouver office. She is a highly skilled Architectural, Structural, and Civil Quantity Surveyor and Cost Consultant working on a wide range of social and civil infrastructure projects. Indu also supports the firm’s Mechanical and Loan Monitoring services. A Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Indu has invested much time in advancing the profession within Hanscomb and beyond. The knowledge and expertise gathered through her engagement with her peers is necessary to create one of our most prominent offices, a significant anchor in the West.
