Senior Architectural, Structural and Civil Quantity Surveyor – Vancouver

Hanscomb Limited has an immediate opportunity for a career-orientated Senior Level Architectural, Structural and Civil Quantity Surveyor to be a part of its expanding Vancouver Team. Candidates will be located in Vancouver and have completed a related post-secondary program and have a detailed understanding of the Canadian construction market and various practices used within it.  Preferred applicants will be a member of the CIQS, RICS, or an equivalent organization and possess their PQS, MRICS, or comparable designation.

Job description

  • Support the delivery of a full range of Quantity Surveying and Cost Consulting Services to new and existing clients
  • Prepare cost estimates at various stages of the design process, from conceptual design to the pre-tender stage
  • Assess and analyze costs between estimate stages and those of comparable projects
  • Quantify materials to prepare cost estimates in accordance with the CIQS Rules of Measurement and best practice
  • Price various stages, methods and types of construction.
  • Support Quality Control and Assurance protocols

Intermediate Construction Loan Monitor – Halifax

 Hanscomb Loan Monitoring Inc. offers full cost control services, scheduling, loan monitoring, value management, construction cost monitoring for large and small projects across Canada. Our Atlantic operation has immediate opportunities for an Intermediate Construction Loan Monitor to be a part of its expanding office. Preference will be given to applicants who reside in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick.

Ideal candidates will have a background in construction costs, materials & practices, proficiency with Microsoft Office products, ability to multitask several projects, commitments to meeting deadlines and an attention to detail and numbers. This job requires the physical ability to navigate safely on working job sites and knowledge of construction progress. A valid driver’s license is required as site travel is involved; candidate will be responsible for transportation.
